Laburnum Buttons, Handmade & Full Range of Sizes
from £12.00
Handmade by me in The New Forest, England, these Laburnum wood buttons are fully functional and totally unique. The wood used for these buttons comes from a Laburnum Tree taken from a private garden due to it becoming unsafe. I acquired this tree directly from the tree surgeon and have processed the timber from raw logs through the air drying process into the buttons you order today.
I offer these buttons in a range of sizes to suit your needs:
18L - 11.5mm - 15/32in (2 holes): Ideal for shirts, blouses, and children’s clothing.
24L - 15mm - 5/8in (2 holes): Suitable for lightweight jackets, sweaters, and cardigans.
28L - 18mm - 23/32in (2 holes): Perfect for medium-weight garments like skirts and casual trousers.
32L - 20mm - 13/16in (2 holes): Great for coats, heavier shirts, and knitwear.
36L - 23mm - 7/8in (4 holes): Best for heavier jackets, overcoats, and bags.
40L - 25mm - 1in (4 holes): Excellent for large coats, duffle coats, and upholstery projects.
The method used to create these buttons is primarily woodturning on my lathe, however, there are a number of additional steps all requiring precision and hands-on care, from drilling the button holes to hand applying the Danish oil finish to each button. This creates a beautiful and durable finish that will not crack, chip, or flake.
Each button is hand stitched onto their fully recyclable packaging, again made by me. These buttons are suitable for dry cleaning or a cool hand wash.
The pictures attached to this listing show examples of Laburnum buttons, attached to the packaging just like the ones you order. However, wood is a natural product so the wood grain of your buttons will differ from the pictures. I would be more than happy to send you a photo of the exact buttons you will receive if you contact me prior to ordering.
